Porcelain Veneers

Dental veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures to achieve a straighter, whiter and more aesthetic smile. Our practice features state-of-the-art technology and techniques to help all patients reach their smile goals.

What are Porcelain Veneers?

Dental veneers are thin, tooth-like shells made of Porcelain that are custom-made to fit over your natural teeth. Veneers are a permanent solution for cosmetic dental issues, such as:

  • Cracks or chips in teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Misalignment
  • Small teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Discoloration, translucent teeth, and stains

Porcelain Veneers consul over two appointments; When you come in for your first appointment, we will administer a local anesthetic, so you are comfortable and relaxed during the procedure. We then gently trim down around the damaged tooth to make room for the veneers. Then, we will take digital scans using our iTero Scanner so your veneers can be made and give you a temporary veneer to go home with.

Your next appointment involves getting the permanent veneers placed. When you come back for your procedure, like last time we will provide you with a local anesthetic and remove the temporaries. Your permanent crown is then placed on top of the damaged tooth and you will walk away with a restored, healthy smile.

Composite vs Porcelain Veneers

At Smile Creation dental clinic in Bundoora, we offer two types of veneer materials – composite and porcelain. Composite veneers are a more affordable option and are made out of a white-filling material. It is a much quicker procedure and can be done in just one appointment. The material is colour matched to your teeth, so it blends in perfectly.

Composite veneers are a great option for those wanting to restore the look of one or a few imperfected teeth as this can be a quick and easy fix.

Porcelain veneers are a more premium, longer-lasting veneer material. They have a natural tooth-like shine and are made from a durable material made to be more durable. If you’re wanting a higher-quality veneer, we recommend the porcelain option.
