The initial Invisalign visit to our practice involves determining your candidacy through a series of digital scans and examinations. If we deem you are an ideal candidate, we can discuss the financial obligation and take scans to submit to Invisalign to create a Clincheck.
Then, you will return to our practice in two weeks when we receive your information back. You will be able to come in and see the Clincheck which is a digital recording of your actual smile moving throughout the process of your treatment-meaning you can see what your new smile will look like before your care plan ever begins.
If you are ready to move forward, we will proceed with ordering your trays. Two weeks later, you will return to our practice to get your first few sets. It is that simple!
FAQ
You should wear your Invisalign aligners for 22 hours each day. You can remove them when you eat or drink and to brush your teeth each morning and night. Likewise, you should also clean your aligners daily, which you can do the same way that you clean your teeth. If you don’t wear your aligners for this amount of time each day, it could prolong your total treatment time.
Invisalign is not painful, though it’s entirely normal to feel like your trays are “tight” or to feel a bit of pressure when wearing a new set of trays for the first few days. After, this should subside. If you ever feel that your trays are uncomfortable, please let us know.
Generally, a course of care will last anywhere from six months to two years. This depends on the severity of your misalignment and unique goals. We’ll be able to let you know an exact time frame at your second visit before ever beginning care.
Absolutely. Many of our Invisalign patients have had traditional metal braces in the past, and may not have worn their retainer as they were supposed to, causing their teeth to shift or drift. Invisalign can make a great treatment plan for individuals who have had prior orthodontic work.
